Akron Zoo Princess and Pirate Night — 6-9 tonight at the zoo, 500 Edgewood Ave., Akron. Children can come dressed in their best princess gown or pirate garb and go on an adventure throughout the zoo. To go along with the theme of princesses and pirates, the zoo will highlight frogs and parrots. The Radio Disney Junior Road Crew will set up a princess and pirate area including music, games and prizes. Akron Zoo Summer Safari — 7-10 p.m. Aug. 8 at the zoo, 500 Edgewood Ave., Akron. The event includes a night of food, animals, auctions and live entertainment, with all proceeds benefiting the Akron Zoo and its conservation program. Rabies vaccination clinics — Summit County Public Health is offering low-cost rabies vaccinations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 9 at Twinsburg City Police Department, Maintenance Garage, 10075 Ravenna Road. Vaccinations for dogs and cats cost $8 per animal.
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Creature Comforts Event — 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 9 at 3900 Wildlife Way, Cleveland. Special Creature Comforts activities are scheduled throughout the day.
