Tour historical homes
Learn more about the houses and gardens of Hale Farm & Village during its annual Home & Garden Tour, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and next Sunday.
Visitors will learn about the first occupants of the homes and how those structures were moved and restored. The people who tend the gardens at the living-history museum will also be available to talk about historical horticulture and the products produced by the gardens.
One of those gardens is Great Lakes Brewing Co.’s Pint Size Farm, which grows vegetables, herbs and flowers for the brewery’s restaurant and is fertilized with spent grain from the brewing process.
The event will also feature presentations on fiber arts, beekeeping, and composting and companion planting.
Hale Farm & Village is at 2686 Oak Hill Road, Bath. Tickets are $10, or $5 for children 3 to 12. Younger children and members of the Western Reserve Historical Society are admitted free.
Details are at www.wrhs.org or 330-666-3711.
