Wednesday

Young Black Professional Coalition “Strikes 4 Hunger” Bowling Outing — Riviera Lanes, 20 S. Miller Road, Fairlawn. Youths: 5-8 p.m., ages 5-17. $10, $7 with five canned goods; Adults: 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. $20, $15 with 10 canned goods. Unlimited bowling and shoe rental. All proceeds benefit OPEN M. Thursday

Gennesaret Inc.’s Home Run for the Homeless — Four-mile run at 9 a.m., beginning and finishing in front of Gennesaret’s Family Nutritional Center, 419 W. Exchange St., Akron. 1-mile fun run/walk at 8:30 a.m. Butch Reynolds, Olympic track gold medalist and former world-record holder, will do the fun run/walk and start the 4-mile race. Door prizes. Race-day registration is 7:15-8:45 a.m. $20. Registration available at www.gennesaret.net.

Faith in Action Medina County Caregivers Turkey Burner Family Wellness Run — 9 a.m. at the Hinckley Reservation in Hinckley Township. Family Turkey Hunt at 8:30 a.m., with scavenger hunt for prizes and hike around the lake. $20 per family. 5k run at 9 a.m.; registration $25 advance at www.active.com, $30 day of the event. 330-952-0342.

Saturday

The Northeast Ohio Blues Association Benefit Christmas Show — 5 p.m. at the Eagles, 6979 Sunset Strip Ave. NW, Jackson Township. Performers are the Rogues Hollow Blues Band, Big Daddy & The Hoodoo Men, The Juke Hounds, Memphis Cradle and Luther Trammel Band. Benefits the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and Toys for Tots. Cover charge is a new unwrapped toy, nonperishable food items or a $5 minimum donation. www.bluesneoba.org.
