There’s still time to get tickets to the Relish Magazine Cooking Show, which comes to town June 15 at E.J. Thomas Hall at the University of Akron.

The show is presented by Relish Magazine, the national cooking magazine that appears the first Saturday of every month inside the Beacon Journal. It will include cooking demonstrations by Relish chef Brian Morris, who will share tips and stories as part of a high-energy, music-filled show, with lots of audience participation.

Tickets are $15 for assigned seats, $20 for preferred seating, and $50 for VIP tickets that include preferred seating and an invitation to a backstage party where you can meet Morris. Everyone who attends will receive a goodie bag filled with samples and coupons. VIP bags will include a hard-bound copy of Seasons & Celebrations: A Market Fresh Cookbook for All Occasions, which retails for $24.95.

Prior to the show, there will be an expo featuring local vendors offering samples of their food and drink. Doors to the expo open at 3:30 p.m. The backstage party starts at 4:30 p.m. and the two-hour show begins at 6 p.m.

I’ll be there to host the show so make sure you stop by to say hello.

Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or at the E.J. Thomas box office. Akron Beacon Journal subscribers can get a 20 percent discount on their tickets by using the code ABJ20 when they purchase.

Looking for food trucks?

Two local food trucks, the Orange Trük and Mobile Sushi Bar, are making regular stops at Regency Wine in Fairlawn, every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

You’ll find the trucks parked at Merchant’s Square, 115 Ghent Road. Customers can take their lunch into Regency or eat on the patio, as long as they buy a beverage from Regency.

On other days, visit the trucks’ Facebook pages to find out where they will be serving. Mobile Sushi Bar is owned by Ken Openheimer, who owns Sushi on the Roll in Medina, and the Orange Trük is operated by chefs Jeffrey Winer and Steve Sabo.

Chef’s olive oil at Fishers

Cleveland restaurateur and chef Zack Bruell, who operates five restaurants in Cleveland, is now selling his own olive oil.

Zack Bruell Olive Oil was created in partnership with Corto Olive, a family-owned agribusiness in California. The oil is served at all of Bruell’s restaurants and now can be purchased at Fishers Foods stores in the Canton area.

The extra-virgin oil retails for $9.99 for a 500-milliliter bottle.

Fishers stores also sell Zack’s Brews, a line of custom coffees from each of Bruell’s restaurants.

Museum wine auction set

The 18th annual Akron Wine Auction is June 8 at the Akron Art Museum, 1 S. High St., downtown. The event will be in the museum’s Beatrice Knapp McDowell Grand Lobby beginning at 6 p.m. with cocktails, followed by dinner at 7:45 p.m.
