Tickets are on sale for the Relish Magazine Cooking Show, which comes to town on June 15 at E.J. Thomas Hall at the University of Akron.
The show, sponsored by the Akron Beacon Journal, is presented by Relish Magazine, the national cooking magazine that appears the first Saturday of every month inside the Beacon. It will include live demonstrations by Relish chef Brian Morris, who will share tips and stories as he cooks up Relish recipes. The show offers high-energy music-filled family entertainment, with plenty of audience participation.
Tickets are $15 for assigned seats, $20 for preferred seating, and $50 for VIP tickets that include preferred seating and an invitation to a backstage party where you can meet Morris.
Prior to the show, there will be an expo featuring local vendors offering samples of their food and drink. There also will be food, books and cookware items for sale. Doors to the expo open at 3:30 p.m. The backstage party starts at 4:30 p.m. and the two-hour show begins at 6 p.m.
Everyone who attends will receive a goodie bag filled with samples and coupons. VIP bags will include a hard-bound copy of Seasons & Celebrations: A Market Fresh Cookbook for All Occasions, which retails for $24.95.
I’ll be there to help with the hosting duties so make sure you stop by to say hello.
Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or at the E.J. Thomas box office. Akron Beacon Journal subscribers can get a 20 percent discount on their tickets by using the code ABJ20 when they purchase.
