First ladies of Ohio
The seven women from Ohio all had vastly different capabilities and life experiences that shaped and affected how they dealt with events before, during and after their roles as first ladies.

Annual Greek pastry sale
The annual Easter bake sale at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the church, 129 S. Union St., Akron.
Traditional Greek pastries, including baklava and Easter bread, made by church members, will be sold along with many others. Greek spinach pies and cheese pies, as well as the custard-filled pastry galaktobouriko, will be sold for $10 a dozen, frozen for baking at home.
During bake sale hours on Thursday, the church also will offer its traditional gyro lunch, with gyros and other Greek foods available for purchase from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Exquisite eggs
The delicate business of turning eggs into art is celebrated at the Elegant Egg, a show and sale from 1 to 5 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, 263 E. Mill St., Akron.
Exhibitors will display eggs carved in filigree designs, hand-painted eggs, Ukrainian pysanky eggs and other forms of egg adornment. In addition, kids can have their pictures taken with the Easter bunny until 4 p.m.
Admission is $4.50, or free for children 12 and younger accompanied by adults. No strollers are permitted.

Books, real books!
Are you one of those 20th-century folks who still enjoys curling up with a good book made out of trees? The Northern Ohio Bibliophilic Society wants you to revel in the 31st Annual Akron Antiquarian Book & Paper Fair from 3 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The show featuring 50 antiquarian book and paper ephemera dealers will be at the John S. Knight Center, 77 E. Mill St, Akron. Tickets are $5, $3 for students.
