All about herbs
The sensory side of gardening is the focus of the annual Herb Fair on Saturday at Cleveland Botanical Garden.
The fair, sponsored by the Western Reserve Herb Society, emphasizes growing and using herbs. It includes presentations, guided tours of the society’s herb garden and sales of plants and garden-related items.
The fair is included in admission to the botanical garden, which is $11 ($6 for children ages 3 to 12). Members and younger children are admitted free, and so are active military members, veterans and their immediate families with a military ID.
The herb fair runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the botanical garden, 11030 East Blvd. Details are at www.western reserveherbsociety.org or www.facebook.com/WRH SHerbFair2014.

Mob ‘The Flash’
If your viewing diet does not have enough costumed crime fighters, you can add another at 8 p.m. Tuesday when The Flash premieres on The CW.
This new interpretation of the DC Comics hero stars Grant Gustin (Glee) as Barry Allen, a crime-scene expert who is dramatically transformed into the fastest man alive. But that does not solve his problems, which include a father in prison for the murder of Barry’s mother, a mysterious industrialist (Tom Cavanagh) fascinated by Barry’s powers and Barry’s failure (so far) at romance.
You can also expect some crossover with Arrow, the CW series about the crime fighter older folks knew as Green Arrow. And if Barry’s father seems familiar, that’s because it’s John Wesley Shipp, who played the Flash in a CBS drama in the ’90s.
