The mom-daughter team of Sharon Kramis and Julie Kramis Hearne have added more vegetable dishes to their second edition of Cast Iron Skillet Cookbook (Sasquatch Books, $19.95).
So besides their culinary and cast-iron smarts, there are recipes for caramelized Brussels sprout hash with crumbled bacon, sauteed green beans with melting tomatoes, zucchini pancakes — and yes, desserts (i.e. old-fashioned peach dumplings and cardamom-apricot financier). It’s available at bookstores nationwide.
