Salvage sale
An architectural salvage treasure hunt awaits at the Olde House Parts Sale, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at new Philadelphia’s Patrick House.
The sale offers old doors, hardware, lighting fixtures and other vintage elements, all to raise money for the Heritage Home Association of Tuscarawas County.
Want to unload your old house parts or antiques instead of buying more? The association will take your donations for the sale.
Patrick House is at 233 Fair Ave. NW. For more information, call 330-364-5757 or visit http://tuschha.org/index.php/olde-house-parts.
Spotlight on Nightlight
For years, you have been longing for an art house cinema in Akron. So have you checked out the Nightlight on North High Street yet?
Current features include Magic in the Moonlight, the latest movie from Woody Allen. Colin Firth plays a magician in the 1920s who wants to prove a psychic (Emma Stone) is a fraud.
Also playing is The Congress, with Robin Wright as an out-of-work actress who lets her digital image be preserved for future productions — even though she will have no control over how it is used; Ari Folman (Waltz With Bashir) directed the blend of live action and animation.
Reviews of Magic have been evenly split, according to the counters at the Rotten Tomatoes website, while The Congress reviews have been mostly positive.
