Feral Cat Spay & Neuter Spring Fling — One of a Kind Spay & Neuter Clinic, 1700 W. Exchange St., Akron, is offering $15 spay/neuter procedures for feral cats for a limited time. Limit two feral cats per family per day/four per week. First-come, first-served. Process will continue as long as funds are available. Procedure includes spay/neuter, rabies vaccination and mandatory ear tip. No owned cats allowed, and all cats must be brought in using a secure humane box trap. Rabies vaccination clinics — Summit County Public Health is offering low-cost rabies vaccinations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lock 3 Park, 200 S. Main St., Akron; also, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 20 at Reservoir Park Community Center, 1735 Hillside Terrace, Akron. Vaccinations for dogs and cats cost $8 per animal.
Akron Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) Rummage for Rhinos Sale — 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Family of Faith Church, 800 E. Market St., Akron. All proceeds will go to support Bowling for Rhinos, a nationwide AAZK fundraiser that supports rhino populations at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya, Ujung Kulon National Park in Java, Indonesia, and Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park and Way Kambas in Sumatra. Primping for Pets — 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Primp the Hair Salon, 139 Ghent Road, Fairlawn. Primp stylists will cut hair for the cause. All haircuts will be done for a $20 minimum donation (please come with shampooed hair. Offer good for haircuts only). One of a Kind Pet Rescue will be on site with some of their furry friends, all available for adoption on-site. The salon will host a raffle and balloon grab game, while Sassy Dog hot dogs and Cupcake Castle will supply treats. DJ Smoov will provide music and entertainment. Mega Adoption Event — 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 13 at Petco, 3790 Burbank Road, Wooster. There will be dogs and cats in need of homes from the Holmes County Humane Society and Wayne County Humane Society. There will also be dog training activities, police K-9 demonstrations and a large snake named Buckeye that people can pet and handle.
