The TV series Ask This Old House is coming to Northeast Ohio the week of Sept. 22 to offer on-camera advice to selected owners of homes old and new.
Submit your home improvement and maintenance questions to www.thisold house.com/askaquestion. You might be chosen to have a member of the show’s team of experts come to your home and advise you on your issue.
The segments recorded during the Northeast Ohio visit will air sometime later on PBS.
Gardening symposium
Learn more about plants and pollinators at Botanica 2014: Ideas and Inspiration, a gardening symposium Oct. 4 at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 5155 Eastlake St. NW, Jackson Township.
The symposium is put on by the Ohio State University Extension master gardener volunteers of Stark County. Doors open at 8 a.m., and sessions will be presented from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Topics are What’s New (and Must Have) from Proven Winners for 2015 by Doug Parkinson of plant brand Proven Winners, Native Plants for Pollinators by Denise Ellsworth of Ohio State and Quick Curb Appeal by Steve Maddox of Snapshot Garden Design.
Cost is $30, which includes a continental breakfast. Registration deadline is Sept. 26.
