Friday

Victim Assistance Program K.N.A.F.F. Picnic — 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, 2610 Ley Drive, Akron. For children up to age 17 and accompanied by an adult. Food, music from KIDJAM! Radio, K-9 demonstrations, archery, fishing, fingerprinting by GASP (Guardians Advocating Child Safety and Protection), face painting, prizes, interaction with police officers. People International Inc. presents “No Day But Today” — 7:30 p.m. at Kent Roosevelt High School. All proceeds benefit the Amelia DiGirolamo Center of Hope in Ravenna. $10 adults, $8 seniors and children 12 and under, free for 2 and under. www.peopleinternational.org.

Wigs For Kids Day — 7 a.m. to noon at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, 3900 Wildlife Way. 5K run, 1 mile walk, Kids Zone, food, face painters, DJ and Cut-a-thon, where people can donate their hair to Wigs For Kids. Falls Cares 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run — 8 a.m. at Falls Cancer Club, 2253 Third St., Cuyahoga Falls. Proceeds help pay expenses of Cuyahoga Falls cancer patients registered with the Falls Cancer Club, Inc. Kids Fun Run at 8 a.m., 5K run/walk at 8:30 a.m. 5K $25 in advance, $30 day of race; Kid’s Fun Run $15 in advance, $20 day of race. www.active.com.

WITAN (Women in Touch with Akron’s Needs) Rummage Sale — 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., Akron. Proceeds support WITAN’s grants for area agencies such as Mobile Meals, OPEN M, Oak Clinic for Multiple Sclerosis, Rebuilding Together and CORE Furniture Bank. ­www.­witaninfo.org.

Karen’s Castle Poker Run — At Karen’s Castle, 202 N. Freedom, Alliance. Benefits Ronald McDonald House of Akron. All vehicles are welcome, with the first bike out at 11 a.m. and last bike in at 5 p.m. Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, food, drinks and entertainment. $15, $20 couple. 330-680-8120.

The Wilderness Center presents Ales for Trails — 7-10 p.m. at The Wilderness Center, 9877 Alabama Ave. SW, Wilmot. Supports trail and bridge repairs. Akron Race for the Cure — at Firestone Stadium. Registration opens at 6 a.m. with the 5K race/walk starting at 8:30 a.m. Survivor’s Ceremony will be held at Firestone Country Club at 10:15 a.m., where the 5K ends. Big Mike’s Memorial Bike Run — Legends Sports Pub, 1840 Town Park Blvd., Uniontown.
