Medina Creative Housing Independence Walk — 6 p.m. at Medina Creative Living I & II, 1120 N. Huntington St., Medina. One-mile walk will go from Medina Creative Living I & II to Medina Creative Living III & IV, Medina Creative Pet Play and back. Food, music, games, face painting, balloon animals, a pet costume party and more. American Red Cross of Medina County and Westfield Insurance Twin Sizzler — Includes running, walking and biking races, originating on Public Square in Medina. 5K run 7:45 a.m.; 5K walk 7:50 a.m.; bike races 8:15 a.m.; fun run 8:40 a.m.; and 10K 9 a.m. Registration fees vary. Child Guidance & Family Solutions Food Truck Fridays — 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through Sept. 12 at 18 N. Forge St., Akron. Featuring trucks from Retro Dog, the Orange Truk, Boca Loca Burrito Factory, Wholly Frijoles!, Stone Pelican Rolling Cafe, and more. Golf outings

Joshua Glatz Golf Outing — July 18 at Cherokee Hills Golf Course, 5740 Center Road, Valley View. 8:30 a.m. registration, 9:30 a.m. start. $110 includes golf with cart, breakfast and dinner. $75 for golf only and $40 for dinner only. OB Open — Aug. 9 at Mud Run Golf Course & Driving Range, 2000 S. Hawkins Ave., Akron. Noon lunch with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. $78 includes 9 holes of golf, cart, lunch, dinner and refreshments. Summit County Historical Society 90th Anniversary Celebration — July 12 on the grounds of Perkins Stone Mansion, 550 Copley Road, Akron. “Dash for a Cure” ALS Benefit — 6:30 p.m. July 14 at International Women’s Air & Space Museum, Burke Lakefront Airport, 1501 N. Marginal Road, Cleveland.
