The Akron Area Interfaith Council on Friday presented a donation of $22,000 to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.
The donation represents monies collected last month at the council’s annual Hunger Walk in Fairlawn, Wooster and Stark County. The May 4 event also netted 1,099 pounds of nonperishable food items for the foodbank.
The interfaith council promotes freedom of religion, equality and understanding by bringing people of different faith groups together. For more information, visit www.aaichungerwalk.org or call 330-329-5132.
