CMTA Night at Akron RubberDucks — 7 p.m. at Canal Park, 300 S. Main St., Akron. See the RubberDucks play the Erie SeaWolves, and help raise awareness and funds for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease research. The inherited disorders affect the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. Tickets are $9 each. $6 of every ticket will be donated to the CMT association’s research program to find a cure. The group will donate proceeds from a raffle auction on the concourse. PAWSibilities, Humane Society of Greater Akron and Blue Canyon Restaurant will raise funds through an after-work cocktail hour, with hors d’oeuvres, adoptable animals, 50/50 raffle and live auction. The Arc of Summit and Portage Counties 25th annual Benefit Golf Scramble — Thursday at Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club, 1101 Barlow Road, Hudson. 8 a.m. registration, 9 a.m. shotgun start. $90 per person includes 18 holes of golf with cart, range balls, Continental breakfast, lunch and a dinner provided by Texas Roadhouse in Stow. Prize packages will be awarded to the top three teams. Prize drawings and a $10,000 hole-in-one contest are also included. All proceeds will be used to benefit the people served through the Arc.
