You can hone your antique-hunting skills at the Treasure Hunters’ Bootcamp, the kickoff event for the first Antique Lovers Weekend later this month in Medina.
The boot camp, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 27 at Weymouth Country Club, will be led by Amelia Jeffers of Garth’s Auctioneers & Appraisers in Delaware, Ohio. The $45 cost includes a buffet lunch, training on discerning good antiques and collectibles from less desirable ones, and an oral evaluation of one item.

The Antique Lovers Weekend will conclude with the Medina Square Antique Show, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 29 on the Medina Public Square. More than 50 dealers will be represented. Admission and parking are free.
Community pride
Keep Akron Beautiful is again making its Community Pride Trailer available for community improvement projects.
The trailer contains tools and equipment that can be used for gardening, landscaping and cleanup projects. Additions this year are a small rotary tiller, new wheelbarrows and a small pressure washer.
The trailer is available to groups for projects that benefit the community. Keep Akron Beautiful will transport the trailer to and from the work site.
