Purses are Like Friends Luncheon — 11:30 a.m. at Fairlawn Country Club, 200 N. Wheaton Road, Akron. New and gently used purses, wallets, totes and beach bags will be sold, presented by the Friends of Akron Children’s Hospital. $20 per person. Magical Theatre Company’s Purse Swap: In Pursuit of Fun — 6-8 p.m. at Zwisler Hall, 500 Mull Ave., Akron. Trade in a new or gently used purse for another; food and wine, mystery purse raffle. Hosted by the Akron/Summit Convention and Visitors Bureau. Proceeds fund scholarships for students in the University of Akron Summit College Hospitality Management program. The Women’s Board of the Summit County Juvenile Court Center Spring Fundraiser — 11 a.m. April 24 at Guy’s Party Center, 500 E. Waterloo Road, Akron. The McKinley Presidential Library & Museum “A Diamond Soiree” — 6-7:30 p.m. April 30 at the museum, 800 McKinley Monument Drive NW, Canton. “A Diamond Soiree” will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, open bar, behind-the-scenes tour, an appearance by William and Ida McKinley, and souvenir. 100 percent of sales will go toward the Ida McKinley Tiara Fund. $500.
