A forum to discuss interfaith marriage is at 6:30 p.m. March 23 at Temple Israel, 133 Merriman Road, Akron.
The discussion will be led by Mamie Kanfer Stewart, of Brooklyn. Stewart, a former member of Temple Israel, now resides in Brooklyn. She is past chairman of Interfaith Family (a nonprofit which supports interfaith couples exploring Jewish life), has been in an interfaith relationship for 12 years and is raising two Jewish children.
Stewart will share her personal journey and help those in attendance explore attitudes toward interfaith marriage. She will also share successful approaches to interfaith marriage.
The session, called Your Spouse or Partner Isn’t Jewish?!, is free and open to the public. A light dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. Reservations are required by Thursday and can be made by calling 330-762-8617. More information can be found at www.templeisraelakron.org.
