Red & White on Thursday Night draws 700 to aid Arthritis Foundation

The 17th annual Red & White on Thursday Night drew more than 700 people to Quaker Station Thursday. Keith Busch chaired the fundraiser for the Arthritis Foundation, along with honorary co-chairs Dr. Tim Stover and Dr. Jordan Grossman.

In keeping with the theme, Gregg Lauck of The Greenhouse decorated the ballroom with red and white flower arrangements and many guests were attired in red.

T.K. O’Grady of 97.5 WONE was emcee. Heather Light sold tickets for a wine raffle that featured a grand prize of a dream vacation, won by Nicole and Matt Zwolinski.

Guests sampled food and wine at stations around the room. Bonnie Napora offered kabobs from Silver Lake Country Club and Autumn Johnston, the Pierogi Lady, served a variety of pierogis.

Bill Kruse enjoyed “adult” mac and cheese from the Bistro on Main, while his wife, Carly, liked the mini meatloaves topped with mashed potatoes from Hudson’s Restaurant.

Darin Shackelford, Mary Yakubik and Sue Sexton enjoyed baked potato soup from the historic Taverne at Richfield, and John and Gina Kraft and Mike and Caroline Plevris enjoyed vegetarian rice from the Saffron Patch.

Rex Grant of Bowling Green Beverage poured Villa Cafaggio Chianti Classico Riserva, and Bill and Julie Theiss of Tramonte & Sons poured Zolo Signature Red.

David Blankenbiker poured pinot noir from the Firelands Winery for Jackie Mayse while Bruce Biggins of Glaziers Distributors recommended the Murphy-Goode Homefront Red, whose proceeds provide assistance to families of service members and wounded warriors.

Enjoying the event were: Beth Boggins, Katie Rennard, Jack DeLeo, Joyce Lagios, Larry and Jacqueline Butler, Dr. John Dietrich, Barb Musci, John and Connie Spence, Bradley and Sara Albaugh, Dave Sattler, Bunny Lacey, Bob Lazarow, and Doug and Jill Ribley.

Andrew Laymon and Rachel Pierce enjoyed white chocolate bread pudding from Moe’s Restaurant. Nancy Baker liked Chocolates by Erin, while her husband, Don, headed over to the West Side Bakery booth where Sue Michael served salted carmel apple crisps. Next door at Salvino Dolci, Abby Salvino and Kat Spicer offered gingerbread cupcakes infused with wine.

Bob Hale conducted the live auction, Lindsay Busch modeled dazzling diamond earrings won by Richard Fouty. Rob and Shirley Shriver had the winning bid for a game table and Dave and Janet Sattler won a spa escape to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.

Kelly Donahue expected the event would raise more than $100,000 for the Arthritis Foundation.
