A good Traffic jam
Are you feelin’ alright? Or perhaps you’re not feeling too good yourself. Either way, singer/songwriter and rock hall of famer Dave Mason will be bringing “Dave Mason’s Traffic Jam,” a multimedia retrospective, to the Ohio Theatre, 1511 Euclid Ave. in Cleveland at 8 p.m. Friday.
Mason, who wrote the enduring classic rock hit Feelin’ Alright at age 18 and was a co-founder of Traffic, will perform and share the stories behind many of the group’s early hits including Dear Mr. Fantasy. Tickets are $10-$45; call 216-241-6000 or 866-546-1353 or go to www.playhousesquare.org.
Feeling ‘Blue’?
Blue Jasmine is showing at the Canton Palace Theatre at 2 and 7:30 p.m. today. Directed by Woody Allen, it stars Cate Blanchett as a well-heeled woman who moves in with her poorer sister (Sally Hawkins) after Blanchett’s life falls apart.
Blanchett is Oscar-nominated as best actress, and Hawkins as best supporting actress. Allen’s screenplay is also nominated. Admission is $5.
Brew a pot of tea
January is National Tea Month. With the weather as cold as it has been, now is the perfect time to keep warm with a freshly brewed cup or pot of tea.
If you’ve never made tea beyond a generic bag of black tea, try experimenting with different types of teas, including herbal, oolong or darjeeling. Use loose teas to brew a pot instead of just a mug to experience more intense flavors.
You may find yourself looking forward to afternoon tea time.
