Local hot sauce for sale
Toni and Dave Rorick, of North Canton, have a new hot sauce on the market.
The Original Homemade Hot Sauce is available at Fishers Foods stores in the Canton area.
Toni Rorick said the sauce is a family recipe and after some encouragement from others who tried it, the pair decided to try to get it on the market.
The sauce gets its heat from habanero peppers, and includes tomatoes, onions, carrots, garlic and spinach. “It’s all natural and it’s healthy for you,” she said.
The sauce is being produced by Walnut Creek Foods, and also is available at some restaurants in the Canton area, including the Arcadia Grille and Riffils Riverside Bar & Grille in Jackson Township. They hope to have it for sale in the Akron area this year.
The sauce is available in both hot and mild varieties and sells for $5.99 per bottle.
Rorick said the sauce is thick, so it stays on food. She encourages folks to try it on omelets, eggs and other breakfast fare. “The heat doesn’t really take over,” she said.
