The Women’s Board of Catholic Charities Community Services of Summit County is collecting items today for its Christmas Bags of Love for families in need.
The board needs household and personal items such as laundry detergent, soap, dish detergent, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, shampoo, hair conditioner, paper products and diapers. Items may be dropped off at the Catholic Charities Community Services office, 812 Biruta St., Akron.

Akron Urban League is seeking monetary donations to fund its 22 programs and services. Donations may be sent to the league at 440 Vernon Odom Blvd., Akron, OH 44307, Attention: Fred Wright, President/CEO.
In addition, the organization needs volunteers to help with its Dining with Santa event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Volunteers will assist with pictures with Santa, a meal, activities and gift giveaways and cleanup.

OPEN M, 941 Princeton St., Akron, OH 44311, is a ministry that helps people in Greater Akron meet the spiritual and physical challenges of living with scarce resources.
