Community Support Services, 150 Cross St., Akron, OH 44311, provides comprehensive behavioral health care for people living with severe and persistent mental illnesses. It is seeking volunteers to help pack more than 1,600 holiday gift bags for clients from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 5. Children may participate if they are able to follow simple directions.

Good Neighbors Akron Food Center, 1453 Goodyear Blvd., Akron, OH 44305, provides food and clothing to needy people who have referrals.
The organization is seeking donations of money, personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, food, clothing (particularly men’s and children’s) and gifts for people of all ages.

Young Black Professionals Coalition is sponsoring its sixth annual Strikes 4 Hunger charity bowling outing today at AMF Riviera Lanes, 20 S. Miller Road, Fairlawn. The outing raises money for OPEN M mission.
From 5 to 8 p.m., youth ages 5 to 17 can bowl for $10, or $7 plus five canned goods or nonperishable food items. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., adults can bowl for $20, or $15 plus 10 canned or nonperishable foods.
The admission prices cover unlimited bowling and shoe rental. DJ Mr. King will provide music.
