Artist Christine Schmidt believes it doesn’t have to take a lot of skill to personalize an item and turn it into something special. She shows how in Yellow Owl’s Little Prints: Stamp, Stencil, and Print Projects to Make for Kids.
Schmidt, who runs the online store Yellow Owl Workshop and wrote the hand-printing guide Print Workshop, filled the book with instructions for making hand-printed items that are practical yet meaningful enough to be kept as treasures. She’s also a mother, so she designed the projects to be achievable by sleep-deprived parents with little free time, little patience for meticulous details and no special equipment on hand.
The projects run the gamut from handmade birth announcements to plates decorated with charming handprints. Included are party decorations, wall art, rugs, toys, tote bags, baby clothes and more.
Yellow Owl’s Little Prints is published by Potter Craft and sells for $21.99 in paperback.
