The Dane Foundation, 20 Pierce Ave., Cuyahoga Falls, addresses the needs of individuals with developmental and physical disabilities.
The foundation is seeking people to decorate miniature trees for its Mini Tree Decorating Contest, a fundraising portion of its annual Kandy Kane Xpress Holiday Festival. It is also seeking volunteers to help with the festival, 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 8 at Stow City Hall, 3760 Darrow Road.
Contest participants pay $25 for a 2-foot tree, adorn it with homemade or purchased decorations, then donate the decorated tree. The contest has three categories: business/organizational, individuals/families and youth.
Trees can be purchased at Stow City Hall or the Dane Foundation office. Decorated trees must be dropped off during business hours at Stow City Hall, or arrangements can be made to drop off trees at the foundation office. Deadline is 4 p.m. Friday.
Trees will be displayed at City Hall before and during the festival. Bids can be placed anytime until 5 p.m. Dec. 8.

Gennesaret Inc. is seeking volunteers to help with its Home Run for the Homeless run through and near Akron’s Glendale Cemetery on Thanksgiving morning. Tasks include working at a water stop, helping with parking, directing the crowd, registering participants and directing runners on the course.
