27th Annual Welcome Santa Holiday Parade — The City of Akron Recreation Bureau is seeking parade units for the 27th Annual Welcome Santa Holiday Parade on Main Street in downtown Akron on Nov. 30. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. Parade categories include marching bands, youth groups, animal units, specialty units, floats, costumed characters, and novelty units. Blanket Donations — The office of Edward Jones at 4902 Erie Ave. SW, Navarre, will be collecting new or clean used blankets, comforters, bedspreads, sleeping bags (anything to give warmth to a homeless person). Drop-off is available until Dec. 16. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, with a lunch closure from noon to 1 p.m. daily.
