‘Before’ movie marathon
A previous to-do list mentioned a local showing of Before Midnight, the third in a series of interconnected films. Now you can see all three — Before Sunrise, Before Sunset and Before Midnight — at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque today at 3, 5 and 7:30 p.m. respectively. It’s $9 to see one movie, $6 for each additional movie.
The films have two people played by Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy as they cross paths at different points in their lives, with those encounters reflecting the passage of real time. So Before Sunset, made in 2004, takes place nine years after the events in 1995’s Before Sunrise, and 2013’s Before Midnight occurs nine years after Before Sunset.
All three films were directed by Richard Linklater.
Canadian crooner
Michael Bublé, the jazz-inflected pop singer whose Sinatra- and classic crooner-inspired vocal style has been filling arenas for several years, will be bringing his tour for his latest album To Be Loved to Quicken Loans Arena at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Bublé mixes versions of standards such as You Make Me Feel So Young with his own original songs, including hits such as It’s a Beautiful Day and Haven’t Met You Yet. Tickets are $54.50, $74.50 and $99.50.
