Help and recipes for learning to preserve

Upcoming classes:

• Canning and Freezing Workshop with Linnette Goard, Food Safety Field Specialist for the OSU Extension, Aug. 28, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Buckeye Library, 6625 Wolff Road, Medina. Call 330-725-4415 to register. The class is free, but registration is required. Pressure gauge testing, 5:30 to 6 p.m., $5 per gauge.

• Jarden Home Brands, maker of Ball brand home canning products, is hosting its third annual National Can-It-Forward Day on Saturday. A live free webcast will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring demonstrations on canning. Participate by tuning into the webcast at www.freshpreserving.com, or following the events on Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter, #canitforward.
