Love Akron Network seeking nominations for community service awards

The Love Akron Network is accepting nominations for recipients of two awards who exemplify service to the community.

Nominees for the Brenda Burnham Unruh Servant Leader Award must be a Christian who exhibits integrity and good moral character and who voluntarily provides service to the community. The award is named for the late Summit County Common Pleas Judge Brenda Burnham Unruh.

The Fowler-Larson Allies Award is given to two people who embody service to the community and have forged a relationship that overcomes cultural or denominational differences. It is a tribute to the collaborative leadership of the Revs. Ronald Fowler and Knute Larson, who modeled an interracial and interdenominational relationship.

The recipients of the awards will be honored during the second annual Love Akron breakfast on Sept. 17. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. Aug. 23.

Love Akron is dedicated to bringing Christian leaders together to work toward the spiritual and social transformation of the greater Akron area.

For more information or to submit a nomination, go to www.loveakron.org. Tickets for the breakfast are $50 and can also be accessed on the ministry’s website.
